Family Wellness Program

Strengthening Staff Resilience Through Peer and Home-Based Support

One Voice United’s Family Wellness Program is a trauma-informed initiative designed to improve the well being of corrections professionals and their families, foster healthy communication, and build resilience and understanding in the workplace and at home.

Through facilitated sessions and by tackling the ripple effects of stress, trauma, and burnout head-on, the program helps participants manage the impacts of occupational stress, open up about the challenges they face, and build sustainable and ongoing networks of support.

For more information or to inquire about hosting a facilitated session, please contact One Voice United at info@onevoiceunited.org.

Testimonials from Program

“One of my favorite moments from the training was when we were seated in a semi-circle

discussing values and corrections. One of my fellow officer’s spouses (who entered the program particularly frustrated) lovingly grabbed his hand during a discussion as her eyes welled up with tears. He looked at her and you could tell in that moment that he finally felt heard and

understood by his spouse as she looked at him. You could see some of the weight lifted off his

shoulders as he’s had a particularly challenging year, and I knew that his home life was going

to be a little bit better going forward. That was such a gift to witness—something I won’t

forget, and truly something that wouldn’t be able to happen naturally in a jail environment.”

— Officer Megan Price, Anne Arundel County Detention Center

“I believe this program is really forward-thinking, one of a kind, and a real step toward

bridging some of the gaps that officers go through in this profession. Fontz and Tori did a great job and I was glad to be a part of its first official class!”
